Once upon a time, in 2001, a restaurant opened at the corner of
Eglinton and Braemar Ave. Unable to think of a name for their
new venture, the owners (Rosa & Vito) simply put up a sign
with the 7-digit incorporation number on it. Using the experience
that they gained working at such great restaurants as Gio’s
and Five Doors North, Rosa and Vito dove headfirst into carving
out their own niche in the neighbourhood. As people discovered
that this little place on the corner had Rosa’s fantastic
food and great ambience, the restaurant was nicknamed “7
Numbers”. The clientele grew and grew, until it became necessary
to open a second location. This time around, they gave it a name
right away: 7 Numbers Danforth.
As time passed, the landlord of the original 7 Numbers location
decided to tear down the building and put something new up. Sadly,
this meant the end of 7 Numbers on Eglinton. However, 7 Numbers
Danforth is still going strong, and Rosa is cooking down there
now.
And the story continues...
